It has turned out to be a sad outing for Bhavesh Joshi Superhero. In the news for the longest time since the title was announced ages ago and director Vikramaditya Motwane had expressed his desire to tell the story on the big screen, the film finally went on floors with Harshvardhan Kapoor. It was always going to be a gamble though since the actor was just one film old whereas the director hadn’t delivered any commercial success earlier either. However, one expected that this antithesis of a quintessential superhero film may just about manage to strike a chord with the audience.

For that to happen though what is of utmost need is for at least a bare minimum number of audiences to actually catch the film in theaters. Unfortunately for the film, even that didn’t happen and as a result there was no scope for any sort of word of mouth to catch either. Result? A disastrous start for the film as the weekend collections are just in the vicinity of 1 crore mark.

Box Office: Bhavesh Joshi Superhero Is A Major Disappointment For All Involved

Now, this is really bad since even Trapped, which was directed by Vikramaditya himself and had featured Rajkummar Rao in the lead, had managed to accumulate 1.42 crore in its opening weekend. Moreover, it was made at a very meager budget. That said, when that film too couldn’t recover its cost, there aren’t any hopes whatsoever with how Bhavesh Joshi Superhero would chug along for rest of the week.

Very disappointing for all involved with the film which deserved better.
