2018 has been one of the most economical years for Bollywood, clearly proving why content is the new king with projects like Padmaavat, Sanju and the last super-hit, Simmba. This year is now continuing the legacy and the first half have been mammoth in itself with impressive projects like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Kabir Singh which went onto impress us way beyond expectations.
While 2018 saw 25 movies releasing in the first half of the year, it started on a bang with Padmaavat and followed by the highest-grossing movie of all time, Sanju. We witnessed as many as 5 super-hit releases and 7 hit movies. The remaining may not have been as much successful, but that period overall has been impressive. The box office numbers in total raked onto become a whopping total of 1804.23 crores.
Box Office Battle – 2018 VS 2019: With 2034 Crores Uri, Kabir Singh & Others Dominate First Half!
The current year, on the other hand, gave tough competition to the previous with a start like the all the blockbuster Uri, and ended on the exact same note with Kabir Singh. There have been 30 releases in total in the first half and the statistics have only been better with 7 super-hit flicks and 5 hit projects. With 2034.9 crores coming in total as box office collection, it’s a win-win for the year!
