The advance booking of Batla House started partially yesterday and some more cinemas have been added today. The John Abraham starrer film has started receiving the love of the audience already but it’s pretty limited so far.

The film started on a decent note yesterday as there were 5% shows going houseful or filling fast. The status is similar today as the booking hasn’t practically improved.
Delhi
Delhi hasn’t shown any improvement too. It was 5% yesterday and it’s 5% today.
Other cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Pune & Kolkata are practically nil so far. The advance booking is happening here but there are no houseful or filling fast shows currently.
Overall, Batla House still has whole Tuesday and Wednesday to show a pickup in the advance booking. But it looks like it’ll be a film to depend on the on-spot bookings and that will bring maximum turnaround of it.
Talking about the film, John Abraham recently said that the script of the film explores a much bigger human story, which goes beyond just the controversial police encounter that took place in real life.
The Nikkhil Advani directorial casts John as DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, who headed the Batla House encounter that took place in New Delhi’s Jamia Nagar in 2008.
“To me, ‘Batla House’ is not just a film about the most controversial encounter in recent times, an incident that got twisted and turned to suit different political agendas. It is a much bigger human story of DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, who went through excruciating personal turmoil in the line of duty,” John said.
He added, “Often in such cases, we just focus on the professional side of a person’s life, forgetting the effect it has on their mental wellbeing. The post-trauma stress that Sanjeev Yadav went through, and his struggle to come to terms with it and rise above it, make for an inspiring journey, and I have tried to encapsulate it in the character I play.”
