The film has received positive reviews and has survived well at the cinemas despite several big releases, including PG films. According to reports, the film is only ready to make its digital debut this month. It was released on Christmas Day, 2024, clashing with A Complete Unknown and Nosferatu. The other two films are also performing well at the US box office.
According to Luiz Fernando’s report, Nicole Kidman’s film Babygirl collected a strong $2 million on its fourth three-day weekend. It dropped 34.1% only from last weekend, despite losing over 427 theatres on Friday. It collected another $436.9K on Monday, thereby taking the film’s domestic cume to $25.8 million.
The film has collected $5.33 million from the international markets, and adding that to its $25.8 million domestic cume, Babygirl’s worldwide cume hits $31.14 million. It is a notable feat for the erotic thriller to cross that mark at the box office. Now, as per Collider’s report, Nicole Kidman’s film has become the 12th highest-grossing A24 movie of all time. It has surpassed Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh’s romance drama We Live in Time at the domestic box office.
The report also stated that if it earns another $3 million in the US, then Nicole Kidman’s domestic career box office total will reach the $2.5 billion mark, a rare feat achieved only by a select few stars. It is also eyeing to enter the top 50 highest-grossing movies of 2024 at the domestic box office and is currently resting in the #52 spot.
Meanwhile, When to Stream’s report claimed that the erotic thriller is expected to arrive on digital platforms via premium video on demand on Tuesday, January 28. The A24 studio has not yet confirmed this.
Nicole Kidman starrer Babygirl was released on December 25, 2024, and is currently running in the theatres.
