Just one song has done the trick for Aashiqui 2. Tum Hi Ho, the chartbuster track by Mithoon, can well be credited to a very good extent for a decent opening that the Mohit Suri directed flick is expected to enjoy this weekend. Just when Bhatts were hunting for that one fantabulous number to do the trick for a film of theirs (Murder 3 had good music but not the kind that pulls crowds), there was something waiting for them right down the corner with a bunch of composers coming together to create a mesmerising soundtrack for Aashiqui 2.
Result? The job is done as the film with ‘almost’ newcomers – Aditya Roy Kapur and Shradha Kapoor – has things going its way. With the makers giving it a good release and it being the only notable arrival of the week,Aashiqui 2 has the stage set for itself where it can only grow further from the 40%-50% opening that is pretty much on the cards.
Moreover, director Mohit Suri has to be acknowledged for being one of the most prolific, consistent and quality filmmakers around. His films may not be scoring a century in every outing but the fact remains that after Rohit Shetty, he is the only young filmmaker to be continuously churning out one film after another ( Aashiqui 2 is his eighth film) and enjoying a good success rate. It would be surprising if he delivers anything less than good with Aashiqui 2 which has seen good buzz growing for itself with every passing week.
Alongside Aashiqui 2, there are three more films slated to arrive – Shree , Chehra and Life Mein Hungama Hai . However, they would even struggle to get a decent all-India release for themselves.
