The much-awaited rom-com 2 States based on the famous novel by Chetan Bhagat of the same name started off on a good note. It raked in approx 11.75 crores on its first day i.e. 1st Friday at the Domestic Box Office, as per early estimates. The film received good responses in the morning shows and continued to experience a good footfall even in the afternoon shows.
Starring Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor in lead roles, their amazing chemistry worked its charm on the audiences. A good footfall was seen in multiplexes and single screens too. With a holiday on the occasion of Good Friday, 2 States had reasons to smile as people flocked to the theaters. Also with the conclusion of college and board exams, a lot of youngsters must have hopped on to watch this romantic tale. A slight decline towards the evening and late evening shows was expected since the IPL fever has caught on.
Overall 2 States has had a good start and is expected to pick up considerably over the weekend.
