With Holiday hitting the screens, a fragment of the niche audiences are rushing to watch a lesser known delightful film named Filmistaan. With Nitin Kakkar’s smooth story telling the tale of cinema spreading delight across nations, the story’s beauty is its ability to reach out to every filmy molecule in the body of people obsessed by it. Talking to Sharib Hashmi, the film’s main lead, we found out his earlier trysts with cinema before Filmistaan came in way. “I was a part of Jab Tak Hai Jaan where critics showered me with much acclaim. However, things did not change much after that despite being a part of a lavish YRF film.”
Asking Hashmi about his experience at YRF, the super filmy man replied, “The first day of shoot had me awe struck. There was Aditya Chopra and Karan Johar (who was styling SRK) and my joy knew no bounds at that instant.”
He continued, “The best part was working with Shah Rukh Khan. He is such a kind man. Usually we hear that big league stars have a tendency of cutting short the role of supporting actors in the film. But SRK was so grounded, down to earth and supportive, that I could never imagine. He is never insecure and that’s a brilliant quality in him which makes him the Superstar he is. It was possible that he could have insisted on chopping off my scenes, rather I got more than my due in the film.”
Talking about Katrina Kaif with whom Sharib appeared in the film, he said, “She is a very hardworking actress. Rehearsing lines, ensuring her dance pieces are perfect. She is where she is today solely because of solid hard work.”
Filmistaan released yesterday along with Akshay Kumar starrer Holiday. One can expect the small film to do well in the urban centres and multiplexes with the positive reviews from critics, paving for the audiences to hit the theatres for this film.
