Dr Sanjay Desai, who operated on Khan, said, “SRK has undergone Arthroscopic surgery of left knee at Breach Candy Hospital. Mr Khan has been suffering from repeated pain and swelling of left knee over the last several months. The surgery confirms Chondral Wear of Patella, which is due to repeated injuries over the last few years. Based on the arthroscopic evaluation future management will be planned. He has recovered well and is likely to be discharged tomorrow.”

This is Shah Rukh’s 5th leg injury. In 1997, SRK broke his knee during an action sequence in Koyla in Arunachal Pradesh, he continued shooting and required a Knee surgery later. The very next year, in 1998, while shooting for Dil Se, he injured his right toe during a sequence that required him to jump, which led for a right toe surgery. In 2001, while shooting for One 2 Ka 4, he broke his right ankle, which he got operated. Last year, when a door fell on his head during HNY, it resulted in a fractured shoulder and torn knee patella tissue. Shah Rukh Khan will be on a break following his discharge to recover and will resume work soon.
