While the fans of Salman Khan were eagerly looking forward to the reunion of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Bhaijaan in Inshallah, the dream was shattered when SLB shelved the project. It is said that the film did not see the light of the day because of a tiff between Salman and SLB, after which the director decided to drop the project which also starred Alia Bhatt. Confirming the same news subtly, Salman even announced that he will return with a new film on Eid 2020, the very same date when Inshallah was supposed to release.
While the news spread like wildfire, Alia Bhatt, who was looking forward to work in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, kept mum about the whole thing. Time and again, she expressed her gratitude to be a part of such a big film and openly expressed her excitement to work with SLB and we think it did not go to waste. Yes, if reports are to believed, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is working on a women-centric film and is considering Alia for the lead role.
A source close to Bollywood Hungama revealed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film will be based on a true-life story of a character from the Mumbai slums who makes it big in the world. Bhansali has even narrated the concept to Alia and she liked it. “As of now, the filmmaker is working on a detailed screenplay. Hopefully, they will announce the project soon.” revealed the news report.
Apart from the SLB project, Alia has a couple of films in the pipeline. She will be seen in Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan. She is also a part of Karan Johar’s magnum opus –Takht – which also features Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar. Alia is also supposed to do the Arunima Sinha biopic.
