Saif Ali Khan is certainly enjoying what can be called the second innings of his career. The actor has tasted success both critical and that of viewers with his last outings. Now as the Nawab of Pataudi is gearing up for Yash Raj Films’ Bunty Aur Babli 2 alongside Rani Mukerji the anticipation among the fans is palpable.
While Saif had previously worked with YRF for quite a few projects, he had hit a rough patch with the head honcho of the acclaimed studio Aditya Chopra in the past over undisclosed reasons. So now, when Saif got a “welcome back home” message from Aditya Chopra the actor reveals how much it meant to him.
Speaking to Film Companion, Saif has been quoted saying, “It was nice to reconnect with Adi again. We had a couple of disagreements in the past and I think he was slightly disappointed in my attitude towards certain things and we hadn’t worked together in a very long time. This just meant that there’s peace again and everything is fine. That is the most important aspect of this.”
Further expressing his joy of working with another producer (Aditya), Saif said, “I have produced films, (I can say that) it’s really a relief to work with someone who has all the headache of choosing the right music, figuring out how to shoot and release it and you just do your work as an actor. I mean getting an SMS from Adi saying ‘Welcome back home’ means a lot to me.”
For the unversed, Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a sequel to YRF’s much loved 2005 release Bunty Aur Babli that featured Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji alongside Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles. The sequel will feature Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari.
While Bunty Aur Babli 2 was slated to release on the 26th of June, the fate of the film now remains unclear owing to the pan India lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
