When Farhan Akhtar tweeted yesterday asking his fans to ‘Watch This Space’, everyone expected a ‘Toofan’ in Shah Rukh Khan’s Don 3. But, it is literally Toofan and nothing about Shah Rukh Khan or Don 3.
Farhan Akhtar shared the first look of his upcoming boxing-drama Toofan on Twitter and posted, “Toofan Uthega!! FIRST LOOK! #TOOFAN releasing 2nd October 2020!! ?❤️”

With as minimum fat in his body, Farhan looks stunning with those gloves in his hands. If the scripting process goes well, this could be a huge surprise. Also, it’s clashing with John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate 2 and Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham Singh Biopic on Gandhi Jayanti next year so it’ll be interesting to see what will be the result of this clash.
Gandhi Jayanti is also emerging to be an important holiday for the filmmakers. This year we’ll see the clash of three very different films in War, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, and Joker. Next year, too, there are three films scheduled to release. It’s to be seen whether or not any of these films modify their release dates, but as of now, they’re clashing.
Farhan, meanwhile, preparing hard for Toofan. He often shares training videos on social media, in which he can be seen doing an intense workout. Toofan is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Farhan has joined hands with Mehra after six years for Toofan and will be seen playing a boxer. The two last collaborated together for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, a biopic on the legendary athlete Milkha Singh. The film is jointly produced by Excel Movies and ROMP Pictures
