Just as we think 2020 is getting any better, we have more shocks in store. In a sad turn of events, Drishyam director Nishikant Kamat has breathed his last in Hyderabad. The filmmaker was undergoing treatment for liver-related problems in the same city. The news comes in as a shocker for Bollywood and the fans of the director.
Nishikant Kamat, 50, was diagnosed with Chronic liver disease and secondary infections. The news of his demise was confirmed by Riteish Deshmukh on Twitter. “I will miss you my friend. #NishikantKamat Rest In Peace,” Riteish wrote on Twitter as he shared a picture hugging the late filmmaker. The two have collaborated on Deshmukh’s hit venture Lai Bhari.
Nishikant Kamat was a filmmaker who was hailed for his genre of filmmaking. The director has two suspense thrillers to his credit including Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer Drishyam, and late Irrfan Khan starrer Madaari. Both critically acclaimed. Kamat is also the man behind two John Abraham films, namely Force and Rocky Handsome. The director has also done some accalimed films in Marathi. Making his debut with Dombivali Fast, he has also worked on Riteish Deshmukh’s Lai Bhari.
