No doubt that Mohit’s impressive list of hits like Murder 2, Raaz – The Mystery Continues, Kalyug and Zeher have helped the minds at Balaji to decide and join hands with the director. But if you think it is because of Mohit’s fall-out with the Bhatt camp, you’re mistaken. Faithful to his mentors, Mohit will direct Vishesh Films’ ambitious musical, Aashiqui 2. But his Balaji project will have to take a backseat for now, “Right now, I’m focused on Aashiqui 2. The project with Balaji will work out after that.” Tanuj Garg, CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures said, “Yes, we’re in talks with Mohit. He’s among the most accomplished young directors on the scene today. We will work on the casting once the script is complete.”
