A writer known for writing horror and pulp fiction stories is going through a writer’s block. He decides to come to his hometown Kolkata to find a love story but ends up discovering his own when he trembles upon a mix Tape the two childhood sweethearts curated. Bindu, Abhimanyu’s neighbour, an ambitious girl, outspoken, vibrant, not sure, falls in and out of love but knows Abhi belongs to her. Abhimanyu, on the other hand, is the next-door boy that every mother adores. Will the two meet again? Does love give them another chance? Does first love always stay with you? Meri Pyaari Bindu answers everything.
There’s love, longing, music, nostalgia, romance, Meri Pyaari Bindu is unapologetically not about a universe, it’s just about two flawed people in love with each other but not together. And that’s why it is special.
Music isn’t a part of the narrative, it’s a character. Abhi and Bindu bond over music, each phase of their life is defined by a yesteryear song that stays with the characters as a friend. Abhi Na Jao Chodkar and Mere Saono Ki Raani are the songs that define the scenes and what they go through. Watch it to know.
Meri Pyaari Bindu is not about if the two meet and end up together, it’s about what life has for them. Are two people in love always meant to stay together? Akshay Roy and writer Suprotim tenderly make Parineeti’s Bindu question Abhi, who answers it.
Ayushmann Khurrana as Abhi is a reflection of everyone who was once in love and will always treasure it. The actor portrays the love, longing, anger, sadness, confusion and makes us root for him. Parineeti as Bindu is a dream, Abhi’s dream and as said Abhi is all of us. Parineeti does the job nice.

DOP Tushar Khanti Ray builds this world dreamingly real. It’s beautiful but lived in and pure. The music album is one of my most favourites, and if Mana Ke Hum Yaar nahi in Sonu Nigam and Parineeti’s voice doesn’t bring that tear you have been hiding so long, I will give you my wealth.
Yes, Meri Pyaari Bindu does lack an intriguing second half, but the heart of the story is on the right place and that is important. Fall in love with the two, decide who you are, remember your first, maybe hug them if you still together because first love is never to be forgotten. Koimoi Recommends Meri Pyaari Bindu with all our heart.
