Shree Rajput Karni Sena, the group who have been opposing the film Padmaavat, since its production days have now agreed to watch it. They have planned to end the deadlock on the issue and accepted Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s invitation. The film, which is slated to release on January 25, has been facing protests by Karni Sena and other fringe groups which also led to the delay in the release of the film. The political group alleged that the historical facts have been distorted in the flick.

“We are ready to watch the film. We never said that we will not watch the film. The filmmaker had assured us one year ago that he will go for a special screening and now he has written for the screening and we are ready for that,” Karni Sena leader, Lokendra Singh Kalvi, who was in Uttar Pradesh, while in conversation to PTI over the phone.

The letter sent to the Karni Sena by Bhansali Production read “The film will maintain the honour and dignity of Queen Padmavati. The dream sequence being talked about in the film is just a rumour and we have already apprised you about the same in the letter sent on January 29, 2017. There is no such scene. We assure that the entire Rajput community will feel proud after watching the film.”
