Watch out Bollywood, the desi Razzies are here! ‘The Ghantas’, started by a few Bollywood enthusiasts, will “award” the worst Bollwood actors, actresses, and films for the period Diwali 2009 to Diwali 2010.
Remember the Nariyal awards with Shah Rukh Khan & Saif Ali Khan at the Filmfare Awards ceremony? Expect ‘The Ghantas’ to be not-so-diplomatic and maybe even nastier. Sample this from their nomination form: There is a ‘WTF Was That’ award with a nominee “The vegetarian sharks that only circled, but never attacked, the bleeding Akshay Kumar, Zayed Khan & Sanjay Dutt underwater in Blue.” One look at the nominations and you will notice that Kareena Kapoor leads in most of the awards with nominations for Worst Actress (Kurbaan, We Are Family), Worst Film (Kurbaan), That’s Anything But Sexy (her seduction scene in Kurbaan) and Worst Couple (with Shahid Kapoor in Milenge Milenge).
This unique award ceremony is expected to be broadcast live via webcast in January 2011.
