The entire industry might be swooning over working with the Khans, but Vidya Balan proudly presents herself as an exception. Be it Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan or Aamir Khan, all three are superstars who have, in their own right, received adulation from their target groups.

One might assume that Vidya doesn’t fit into any of their brackets because she very evidently is someone with too much of a persona of her own. In the last few events for her upcoming film Bobby Jasoos, Vidya was asked about when can one see her working with the Khans and she carefully brushed it aside with ‘whenever there is a script that has a role meaty enough for her’.

When Koimoi caught up with her for a chat regarding her upcoming film, she elucidated on why not working with Khans doesn’t perturb her at all, rather far from it. She said, “You’ll see me working with them when you get to see them working with me (laughs). On a serious note, there has to be a script in place which has substantial for me to do. I have never looked for scripts so that I can work with certain actors.”

Continuing from the same cue, Vidya said, “I am very happy doing the kind of work I am doing. I’ve never planned my career merely responding to scripts that have come my way. Neither have I planned my career working with new actors or known ones. I have a very different approach.”

The actress has apparently never even been offered any role with the Triumvirate Khans either, despite her Bollywood debut was opposite Saif Ali Khan in Parineeta. Vidya went on to say, “I’ve never really got offers for films with them in the last seven years and neither do I see myself fitting into those kinds of films honestly. There is not enough for me to do there. I only think about myself and not about who else is there.”

Vidya has been known for her solo films especially The Dirty Picture and Kahaani both of which brisked her through to super success. With Bobby Jasoos, the actress again attempts to break into the world of detective films which have so far remained the men. This firecracker of a Bobby might just the perception of it!
