How Many Millions Have Bachchan Parivaar Locked Up In Housing Property?

1. Pratiksha is the first bungalow of the Bachchans where Amitabh Bachchan’s parents Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan used to live.

2. The Bachchans later moved to Jalsa, a 10,125 sq ft double storied bungalow located close to the J W Marriott, Juhu. Rumours suggest ‘Jalsa’ was gifted to Mr Bachchan by Satte Pe Satta director, Ramesh Sippy but Big B denies this in private.

3. Janak is the third bungalow which is situated near Jalsa. Janak is Bachchan family’s office & is regularly used as a gym.

4. Vatsa is the fourth bungalow which is leased out to Citibank India.

5. It is also said that the Bachchans plan to build a fifth bungalow with 8000 sq ft bought for Rs 50 crore (USD $10 million) in 2013 behind Jalsa. The bungalow is unnamed right now.

6. As reported by the Times of India, Abhishek Bachchan booked a luxury apartment in an upcoming Worli project for Rs 41.14 crore. The rate works out to Rs 1.06 lakh a sq ft for the 3,875 sq ft flat. The apartment is on the 37th floor of Skylark Tower, Worli.

7. The five-bedroom house includes a family room, dining and living rooms, wet and dry kitchens and 20 feet terraces on all sides. This is one of the few projects in the city where authorities have sanctioned such unusually large terraces.

8. Apart from the Mumbai Bungalow Jalsa, Jaya Bachchan owns two flats in Bhopal & Amitabh Bachchan also owns additional real estate in Gurgan, the Delhi suburb. He also owns an apartment in France. A commercial building in Juhu with market value of 20 crores is also owned by the Bachchans.

9. Amitabh has two agricultural lands, one in Daulatpur village in Barabanki district and another in Muzaffar Nagar village in Lucknow district. While the Barabanki land had gotten him into controversy, with some calling it a political favour by Mulayam Singh Yadav, the actor refused to dispose of it. In 2009 he was given a clean chit by the Lucknow High Court over it’s ownership.
