Happy Holi everyone! Koimoi.com got a select few Bollywood actors to share their Holi wishes. Here they are, starting out with Aamir Khan:
Aamir Khan: “I was born on Holi. On 14th March 1965 it was Holi. So in a sense it’s my birthday according to the Hindu calendar. As a kid I was always very scared of Holi. I was scared of the coloured faces that I saw and of the sounds that people made when playing Holi. So I always stayed at home. It was only by the time I was 15 or 16 that I became more comfortable with the festival. Now, Holi is a day that the family and close friends get together at Nasir Sahab’s house to play Holi with natural colours and water. We usually end up playing football in the garden, kids grown-ups, males – females, everyone. So it’s a family day just having fun and relaxing.”
R. Madhavan: I will celebrate Holi this time with a lot of colours… friends, and most importantly, make amends with the ones we have argued…
Celina Jaitly: ThisHoli is a very special Holi as it is my first Holi with my fiancé. He will see and experience our festival of colours for the first time. We are therefore super excited!
Tusshar Kapoor: I always celebrated Holi as a child. Though now plating with colours does not seem too exciting. But this festival does signify joy and positivity which becomes enough reason to set aside worries and party with friends.
Chunky Pandey: For me every day is Holi considering the kind of colourful clothes I wear. I am taking my daughters to Goa this Holi. Will spend the day in the pool.
Divya Dutta: I go to Shabanaji’s (Azmi) evey year and to Sudhir Mishra’s. Lots of fun, colour and high spirits.
Aarti Chhabria: I love Holi. It is one of my favourite festivals simply because I love colour. As a child I would enjoy filing water balloons and aiming them at passersby. There was great fun in that mischief. Until one day, I had a water balloon burst on my own back from a higher floor. Now, I celebrate Holi with family and friends and enjoy with kaccha colours and little bit of water. The beauty of Holi is the reason why it is celebrated – the winning of good over evil. I also attend the ceremony where they burn Holika the previous night.
Bikram Saluja: I don’t play Holi at all nowadays because it gets messy. As a kid, I used to love playing it. I remember, I used to prepare balloons and go out and buy colours myself. All together a lot of family, friends, we used to invariably go out to someone’s farmhouse for a picnic and play Holi there. So, I had a lot of fond memories of celebrating Holi.
