What’s in a name? Well, for one, Sholay has a completely different ring than something like Ye Dosti or Thakur Aur Dakoo. While purists lament the loss of good titles from Bollywood (Love U…Mr. Kalakaar!, Always Kabhi Kabhi, Tell Me O Kkhuda are a few gems from 2011), we can’t help but notice the ‘Ek’ trend in Bollywood. And now that we have had Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and Ekk Deewana Tha releasing within days of each other, Koimoi.com brings you some interesting movies whose titles begin with ‘Ek’:

Ek Tha Tiger

Right now, this Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer has got us most excited. And the very masala title adds to the already delicious idea of seeing this jodi together again on the big screen. Come June 2012 and we’ll see how this tiger roars.

Ek Duuje Ke Liye

This tragic-romance with Kamal Hassan and Rati Agnigohtri had memorable songs and a cute chemistry between the lead couple. The language barrier between the two was a really different from the slapstick of those times.

Ek Hasina Thi

One of Urmila Matondkar and Saif Ali Khan’s most brilliant performances was in Ek Hasina Thi. Taken from the title of a song from a Rishi Kapoor movie, the title subtly hits at the metamorphosis of a nice girl.

Ek Chalis Ki Last Local

Another lesser known movie in this list was this Abhay Deol and Neha Dhupia starrer. Ek Chalis Ki Last Local had some pretty catchy songs and very good performances as well.

Ek Chhotisi Love Story

One of Manisha Koirala’s brief moments under the sun, as the voyeuristic love of a hormonal teenager. More than her performance or the story, the daring (and innovative) posters and sexual scenes were the most talked about points of Ek Chhotisi Love Story.

Ek Hi Bhool

You don’t have to be a Bollywood expert or a linguist to know that the title refers to adultery. And with a wife as hot as Rekha, we’re still wondering why Jeetendra had to do his singular bhool.
