‘Films Similar To Munna Bhai Chale Amerika Have Released’: Rajkumar Hirani

Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and director Rajkumar Hirani have shelved Munna Bhai Chale Amerika (Read Sanjay Dutt Interview) . However, they will be making another Munna Bhai film, which will be the third in the series. Revealing the reason for abandoning the project even before it could mount the sets, Rajkumar Hirani explained, “Films with a similar plot line have already been released and so we thought of dropping the project. Like in My Name Is Khan, so also in Munna Bhai Chale Amerika, the hero was to be shown meeting the US president.”

“There are some more released films in which sequences similar to a few of our key scenes have been seen,” added the director of the Munna Bhai series and 3 Idiots. The third Munna Bhai film, like its predecessors, will star Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi.
