42-year-old Television actor Kushal Punjabi’s death came in as a shock for both the industries and his close ones are still grieving his untimely demise. While we have seen many celebs offering their condolences, the recent one is Chhapaak actor Vikrant Massey who feels there is always a way out of depression and below is what the actor has to say.
Kushal committed suicide in December 26, 2019. His body was found hanging in his Mumbai apartment of December 27. According to the suicide note that he left, the actor was suffering from depression due to financial crisis and failed marriage.
Vikrant according to a report in Pinkvilla while talking to an entertainment portal spoke about how there are ways out from depression. He also expressed how one can resist from taking drastic steps. It was the when he spoke about Punjabi.
He said, “Talking is the solution to combat such strong emotions. Talking it out to anyone. My experience tells me that, in our society talking about such subjects is still a taboo, you’re considered weaker. If there’s a man who goes up to his family and says that I’m depressed and I have issues, the people consider it as a Mental Issue. He is called mad. We still look at these issues from the same lens. The pace at which we’re progressing is extremely slow and unfortunate. Let’s face it.”

Elaborating on how it is everyone’s personal struggle, he added, “I’m not really qualified or equipped enough to tell people what to do or what not to do, but sharing your load by beginning to talk about it, is the solution. You can talk to a stranger also, as most of the incredible conversations happen with strangers. Life is extremely precious. I recently lost a friend last week (referring to Kushal Punjabi), we all heard about him. We just need to talk and get things out of our system. There is always sunrise after night,”
Vikrant will be seen in Chhapaak alongside Deepika Padukone and is directed by Meghna Gulzar. Based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, the film is set to hit the screens on January 10, 2020.
