Anurag Kashyap has three reasons to celebrate and keep the champagne coming! Three of Kashyap’s films, Gangs of Wasseypur (Part I & II) and Peddlersare part of the Critics Week at Cannes and will be screened in the Directors’ Fortnight Section.
While Gangs Of Wasseypuris the two part directorial venture by Anurag and stars Manoj Bajpayee, Jaideep Ahlawat and Raima Sen. Peddlers is his production and the directorial debut by Vasan Bala, which will also be competing for the Camera d’Or.

An elated Kashyap tweeted, “”Three of our films; Peddlers, Gangs Of Wasseypur (I&II) at Cannes Film Festival. HUGE MOMENT OF PRIDE FOR US! Gangs Of Wasseypur (I & II) at Cannes Director’s Fortnight. Waiting at the Brussels airport in a silent zone, wanting to scream out loud, off to Copenhagen.. I am very happy..really Happy today. btw.. amongst all the madness.. GOW was a film that almost didn’t get made.. if it wasn’t for VIACOM 18..so the biggest thank you to them.”

Another Indian film which has made it to the prestigious event is Ashim Ahluwalia’s film, Miss Lovely, which will be screened in the Un Certain Regard section.
