Join UsAjay Devgn may be getting into a major box office war this Diwali with Shahrukh Khan. However the ground has been pretty much cleared for him for his next release Himmatwala with Karan Johar moving his Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani ahead.
“Thankfully there would be no undue talks around a clash of any sorts; it doesn’t help anyone”, says an insider, “’Yeh Jawaani…’ is a big film too with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone on a high after Barfi! and Cocktail respectively. Their clashing with Himmatwala would have made a lot of noise as well, just as is the case with Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardaar.”
To be fair to Ajay though, the makers (Sajid Khan and Vashu Bhagnani) had announced Himmatwala way back and that too when the film had not even gone on floors. With Karan Johar delaying the release of his film without any fuss, it is turning out to be a win-win situation for all involved. Meanwhile, even though it is being said that Lootera may arrive on 29th March, plans are yet to be confirmed for that.
“Moreover all eyes are on Sajid Khan to make it four in a row after Housefull 2, Housefull and Heyy Babyy“, a source adds, “Himmatwala is all set to be his most massy film till date not just due to the remake factor but also Ajay’s presence. It is now seeing a solo release and that too by being the first ever film to hit the screens after culmination of Board exams in schools.”
With Karan too ensuring a solo release for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani on 31st May, it is turning out to be a happy case scenario. Hopefully other filmmakers indulging in expected clashes ahead take a cue as well.
