Continuing our series on Bollywood stars and their zodiac cricketing counterparts, let take a look at the ones under the Aries sun sign:
Remember Phool Aur Kaante? The action film was Ajay Veeru Devgan’s first commercial release. Despite his non-hero looks and personality, the movie worked so well at the box-office that it was called a smash hit. Ajay Devgan personifies the zodiac sign ‘Aries’. Ajay Devgan’s sharp eyes perfectly carry the fire element of Aries. Arians are known to bounce back and Ajay has done it many times. There was a time when Ajay Devgan had produced Hindustan Ki Kasam to fulfil his father, Veeru Devgan’s wish of directing a movie with Amitabh Bachchan. When the movie flopped, Ajay was ridden with debts. But being the fighter he is, Ajay Devgan sprung back and came as a wonderful actor in movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Gangaajal, Raajneeti, etc.
Another example of a typical Aries is Arshad Warsi aka Circuit of the ‘Munnabhai’ franchise. Arshad’s decent acting skills are highly overshadowed by his comic performances. Right from his career beginning with Tere Mere Sapne, to recent Munnabhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munnabhai and Golmaal, his character has always had the comic touch. His serious role as a police officer in Seher was forgotten by audience. But Arshad sure has Aries fighting spirit and has reached to a comfortable position in Bollywood.
More on Aries: People under the Aries sign are ‘doers’ rather than ‘talkers’. They are impulsive, act first, ask questions or have doubts later. That’s why their lives are often filled with many dramas and sometimes even accidents! Their ability to live life close to the edge provides them with a wealth of ‘real experience’ to call upon. When an Aries person talks about something or somewhere they’ve usually done it or been there, rather than simply read about it in a book. Being active people Aries can’t adapt to any kind of restriction, particularly possessive relationships.
Rani Mukerji, Lara Dutta
Aries women, as they say, are one of the most interesting female species as they are independent and aggressive, but at the same time, very trusting. Two of the Bollywood divas who fit in here perfectly are Rani Mukerji and Lara Dutta. Rani has mostly portrayed very strong female characters as in her recent release No One Killed Jessica. People who know Rani vouch for her fiery and dashing personality. Lara, on the other hand, comes across as a milder version on screen. But off-screen, her co-stars are known to call her ‘Lara Paaji (brother)’ because of her adventurous nature.
Unfortunately, not many famous cricket stars are born under this sign. But one great name should be enough here and that is Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka. This shy, reserved, harmless looking guy turns into a monster when he has the red cherry. If you watch him in slow motion, his eyes are just focused on the wicket and every delivery from him looks like a challenge to the batsman. He was ridiculed because of his action in Australia. But as a true Arian, he came of flying colors. He has become an example for any upcoming spinner.
