Actress Natasha Suri, who made her big-screen debut with the Malayalam comedy King Liar (2016), has tested positive for COVID-19. The actress shared this news on Sunday and is currently quarantining at her home.
The former Miss India World also said that due to her health issues, she will have to skip the promotional activities of her upcoming MX Player series, Dangerous. This series also stars Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover.
Natasha Suri had gone to Pune earlier this month and fell sick on her return to Mumbai. She told PTI, “I had gone to Pune taking all the necessary precautions. When I came back, on August 3, I fell sick. I had fever, sore throat so I got myself tested and it turned out Covid-19 positive.”
Natasha continued, “My family members also started feeling sick so I am strictly quarantining at home, taking medications. They have also undergone tests, their reports are awaited.”
Her sister and grandmother have also been tested for coronavirus.
Talking about her upcoming web-series, Natasha said, “We were all gearing up for the promotions but now I won’t be able to participate. I was looking forward to it because we had worked so hard for the project. There were things that were planned but nothing can be done now.”
Dangerous is written by Vikram Bhatt and directed by Bhushan Patel. The series is set to premiere on August 14.
Meanwhile, Miss India organisation’s official Twitter handle shared a post wishing Natasha Suri a speedy recovery. It reads, “Here’s wishing a speedy recovery and praying for the healthy life of our beauty queen Natasha Suri who has been recently diagnosed with Covid-19.
