Actors Are Like Male Escorts: Akshay Kumar On Desi Boyz

Akshay Kumar might be playing a male stripper in his forthcoming film Desi Boyz, but he is unabashed about doing this kind of a naughty role. Talking about his role as male escorts in Desi Boyz, Akshay Kumar informs, “It is only in a part of the film that John and I play male escorts, when we are hit by recession in London. It’s not as if the entire film shows us like that.”

About whether he felt awkward playing a male escort, Akshay said, “What we do as actors is pretty much the same thing that we do as male escorts in the film. In our new roles, we fulfill the costume fantasies of females. So also in our profession as actors – we sometimes wear a policeman’s costume, sometimes a pilot’s attire, sometimes a doctor’s coat and so on. So, an actor and a male escort do pretty much similar things.”
