A.R. Rahman’s Tour Hit By Accident

Members of A. R. Rahman’s Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour miraculously escaped an accident in Detroit when part of the Pontiac Silverdome collapsed on the sets on June 19, 2010. Following the accident, the shows in Detroit and Toronoto were cancelled but are going to be rescheduled soon. While a few of members of Rahman’s team were injured, most of them were not harmed.

In his tweet Rahman apologized for the inconvenience to the audiences and also said that his crew had been given “…almost given a second life.”

The Oscar winning music maestro is on a world tour across US, Canada, France, Switzerland, Holland and Britain and has received an amazing response from the tour so far. The concerts in Europe and UK will proceed as planned. Rahman is not ready to compromise the choreography and circus acts in the show, the team has to work for over 3 weeks to rebuild the lights and the sets.

“While I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our friends in the U.S. and Canada, maybe it’s a blessing in disguise, as we will have the opportunity to perform for you with even more energy and perfection.
