They say, one of the most challenging genres of acting is comedy. Hitting right notes with the punches and not missing the comic timing is an art and only a few actors can manage that. Last year, we saw a few films, wherein certain characters truly made us laugh our hearts out with their performances.
Let’s have a look at the nominations for Best Comedian of 2015:
Who can forget Nana Patekar’s hilarious character Uday Shetty from Anees Bazmee’s Welcome. With the sequel hitting the theaters last year, Patekar returned to the silver screen with the same character. Muttering the famous super funny dialogues, ‘Bhagwan Ka Diya Sab Kuch Hai’ and ‘Control Uday Control’ he made sure to tickle our funny bones.
Reprising his role in the sequel, Anil Kapoor as Majnu Bhai was back and how. The actor’s perfect body language and his rowdy lingo worked its charm this time too. One can hardly imagine he is the same guy who played the uber classy Kamal Mehra in Dil Dhadakne Do which speaks volumes about his versatility as an actor.
Can anyone imagine watching Tanu Weds Manu Returns without ‘Pappi’? Well, certainly not. Deepak Dobriyal’s famed character Pappi added the necessary comic element in the sequel of Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Dobriyal’s best scene in the film was the one where he attends a medical conference and interacts with students giving them some hilarious replies. This scene literally had everyone in splits.
Sanjay Mishra is a senior actor who is capable to pull off two varied characters like Masaan and Dilwale at the same time. Playing the character of Oscar in Dilwale, Mishra was seen throwing some brilliant one liners. Not only were his dialogues written wittily but it was his style of delivering them that made them more funnier.
After taking television by storm with his comedy, Kapil Sharma made his Bollywood debut with Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. The genre being his very own, he was comfortable and confident with this film. Kapil’s character with three wives and one girlfriend was quite amusing.
