Coolie No. 1 Remake: Paresh Rawal Joins The Fun With Varun Dhawan-Sara Ali Khan! Disha Patani To Come On-Board?

Ever since the revival of David Dhawan’s comic caper Coolie No. 1 has been announced, fans have been going crazy to witness Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan stepping in Govinda & Karisma Kapoor’s shoes respectively! The sequel is being directed by David himself and latest is that a new member has been added to the cast who’s sure to make it a laugh riot.

According to a recent report by leading daily, Mumbai Mirror, Paresh Rawal is the new addition to cast and he’ll be seen stepping in the shoes of legendary Kader Khan from the original but with a twist. “Paresh plays the role of Sara’s father, Hoshiyar Chand, and the humour in the film revolves around his part. While the role in the original film was more in the orthodox zone, the new one has been tweaked as per modern sensibilities,” reveals a source close to the development.

Moreover, the team along with Paresh is currently shooting overseas after which there’ll be a sequence in Goa. After wrapping up the overseas shoot, the team flies to Goa to finish another big schedule of the film,” the source further revealed.

About the story in the sequel, the source revealed, “The story template of a coolie caught between two girls remains the same, but the cast and the screenplay have been tweaked.”

Apart from Sara, the film will feature another actress. Buzz is, the makers are in talks with Disha Patani to play the sister but “it’s not a big part, and the second female lead won’t be an A-lister,” as the report suggests.

The project is said to go on floors in August start.
