The two do not have anything in common. However one thread that ties them together is dance. While Prabhu Deva has regaled everyone by his dancing for close to two decades now, latest heartthrob in B-Town, Varun Dhawan, was noticed for many of his skills, one of them being dancing. No wonder, the moment Prabhu Deva realised what the youngster is capable of, he has been motivating him at every juncture, hence turning out to be his lucky mascot.
“This also happened recently at a prominent award function that was recently held. Varun was supposed to perform for the event and was practising for it. Prabhu Deva happened to be there and complimented him for his work in Student of The Year. He then also wished him luck for the evening ahead,” informs a source.
Varun, who has been collecting accolades ever since the release of his debut film Student of The Year, was deeply touched. What made his day though was when Prabhu Deva made it a point to share his views around his dances after the event as well.
“Varun was one of the major highlights of the function. He danced to as many as four tracks, out of which three were from Student Of The Year and fourth was a musical pieces. He danced on everything from Western to Bollywood and contemporary format. This was his first major stage performance but once the music began, there was a different kind of confidence altogether. Prabhu Deva noticed that as well and made sure to pass on his feedback and compliments to the youngster,” the source adds.
For the Dhawan scion who has just been signed by Ekta Kapoor for a biggie, there was all the more reason to celebrate since he has always looked up to Prabhu Deva’s dances. With more stage performances to follow for a couple of other major awards functions, he is now keeping his fingers crossed to see whether his lucky mascot makes an appearance yet again and wishes him luck.
