Last week’s big-ticket Bollywood release Housefull 2 garnered Rs. 42 crore in its opening weekend (approx. all-Indian net collections). The multi-starrer comedy, which opened on the Good Friday holiday, faced some opposition from the ongoing IPL 5 cricket tournament over the weekend.
The first-day box office collections of Housefull 2 were Rs. 14 crore. On Saturday, collections dropped slightly to Rs. 13 crore. On Sunday, Housefull 2 netted a total of Rs. 15 crore, taking its three-day total to Rs. 42 crore (approx. all-India net).
In terms of box-office records, Housefull 2 has the second best opening day collections of 2012, after Agneepath (Rs. 25 crore).
In addition, Housefull 2 collections in Overseas are Rs. 5.50 crore over Thursday and Friday. In the UK, it collected £ 112,075 on Friday. In Australia, Housefull 2 collected A$ 73,143 on Friday. In New Zealand, the Friday collections were NZ$ 34,604. In the UAE, collections on Thursday were AED 725,000.
