Join UsIt’s not the first time that news about the “casting couch” has shocked Bollywood, only this time its actress Payal Rohatgi pointing a finger at Love Sex Aur Dhokha director Dibakar Banerjee. And now even director Anurag Kashyap has joined the war of words.
Payal, who was seen in films like Plan, 36 China Town and Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai?, alleged that Dibakar came over to her house and asked her to take her top off. When she refused, he refused to give her a role in his film Shanghai.
Payal claims that the director initiated contact with her through a text message and soon became very friendly her. When she heard about Dibakar’s upcoming film ‘Shanghai’ with Abhay Deol and Emraan Hashmi, she asked him for a role in the film. After auditioning for an emotionally charged role, Payal says that she was an emotional wreck and met up with Dibakar. Later Dibakar offered to drop her off at her home. Once at her home, he commented that she had gained weight and asked her to take her top off. Payal also claims that it’s her refusal that led to her being dropped from the film. She also says that Dibakar visits a psychiatrist because he cannot remain monogamous.
Refuting these allegations by Payal, Dibakar claims she was the one who came on to him first with flirtatious messages. Director Anurag Kashyap has also jumped to the defence of his colleague accusing Payal of being disturbed. He has also raised the question as to why Payal came out with the accusation now even though she claims that the incident happened months ago.
