Parineeti Chopra is back on screen after a long time. Apart from embracing motherhood in real life, the actress has embraced the role for her on-screen persona as well. For her upcoming web series Shaque: Trust No One, she plays a mother whose daughter gets kidnapped soon after birth. The story takes place 8 years later, when Parineeti’s character is still searching for her child.

Shaque: Trust No One

Rensil D’Silva’s upcoming Netflix series has quite an interesting premise. A mother loses her child soon after birth to kidnappers. Eight years later, her search for her child continues. In the trailer, we see her putting up fliers for her missing daughter. But the interesting thing is that she isn’t quite sure what her daughter looks like. On the other hand, Tahir Raj Bhasin, who plays Parineeti’s husband, informs the police in a scene that the kidnappers had the photos of their child. To this, the police say that means the kidnapper is someone close to them. Of course, there is a mismatch in the details here, but we will need to watch the film to piece this mystery together.

What immediately stands out in the Shaque trailer is the series’s cast, who play crucial roles. The trailer reveals that Parineeti’s character is surrounded by those close to her, whom she can no longer trust. So the trailer also casts them in a suspicious light. The characters are played by Jennifer Winget, Anup Soni, Soni Razdan, Sumeet Vyas, and more.

The trailer alone gives us enough reason to suspect every character without revealing too much of the plot. In the trailer, we also see Parineeti slowly lose her mind, and it is claimed that someone is drugging her on purpose. It is quite interesting to see her play a mother, which is very different from her previous characters. If written well, this film has the potential to be one of the best series, thanks to its intriguing plot.

The series promises plenty of twists, but it is the emotional mystery that makes the trailer intriguing. How far can a mother go when she refuses to give up? And what happens when that determination begins to look like obsession?

Created by Rensil D’Silva and Siddharth P Malhotra, Shaque: Trust No One is directed by D’Silva and produced by Sapna Malhotra and Siddharth P Malhotra. The film will be available to stream on Netflix from September 24.
