Bayley and Sasha Banks have been hard-working women in WWE over the past few months. Both were rejoicing their ownership of Championship gold backstage on tonight’s SmackDown but it didn’t last long. Chief brand officer of WWE, Stephanie McMahon conducted a conference call with them and announced a piece of bad news.
While one may imagine that both Sasha and Baylee were pretty wary of what that would mean for them, they learned that McMahon wasn’t going to punish them or anything. Interestingly, McMohan had other plans for them who screwed over a chance for revenge.
Both Sasha and Bayley have been part of the Women’s Tag Team Championships for the past few months. They have been travelling to all three WWE brands in order to defend their Championships. As a result, both have made many enemies throughout their current storyline. McMohan, much to their surprise, announced that next week they will have a triple brand battle royal on SmackDown and whoever wins the match will go on to battle Bayley at SummerSlam. This also means that Sasha will now have to face Asuka once more for her Raw Women’s Championship.
McMahon pointed out that Bayley had irked pretty much everyone across all three brands. She said, “And as for you Bayley, remember all those enemies you’ve been making across Raw, SmackDown, and NXT? Well, they will all have a chance for retribution when they compete next week in a triple brand battle royal, with the winner facing you for the Women’s SmackDown Championship at SummerSlam.”

McMahon seemed quite annoyed by the fact that Bayley and The Boss have managed to find a loophole in her stipulated match for the Raw Women’s Championship. Hence, this announcement has unlocked the possibility of a number of women from NXT to be called up to the main roster.
