He redefined Bond by taking him back to his roots with ‘Skyfall’. A Bond film with a difference, Sam Mendes wowed fans & critics alike with his gritty take on the suave British super spy.
While Mendes has helmed the latest Bond film in the series with ‘Spectre’, the British director surprised many by stating his intentions to quit the franchise. “I said no to the last one and then ended up doing it, and was pilloried by all my friends,” Mendes told BBC. “But I do think this is probably it.”
Daniel Craig returns in the fourth appearance as 007 in Spectre. The film stars German actor Christophe Waltz in a much anticipated role as Franz Oberhauser & also co stars Monica Belluci. Noami Harris will return as Miss Moneypenny.
Mendes summed up his experience of creating a Bond film as, “It feels almost — even though we’ve just finished shooting it — like one big experience and it was a fantastic life-changing thing.”
‘Spectre’ will release on 26th October in the USA & is expected to release simultaneously in India.
