This Is Us Writer Jas Waters Passes Away, Mandy Moore & Team Devastated!

American family comedy-drama series, This Is Us, is special for many. The show is more like emotion to fans who have literally lived it. Starring Mandy Moore, Justin Hartley,  Chrissy Metz and Susan Kelechi Watson amongst others, it has been a huge support for fans amid lockdown. While we always smile talking about it, today we have something really upsetting. Writer Jas Waters has passed away. Below are the details you need.

The unfortunate news broke in last evening. Jas Waters was just 39. Her passing away has been confirmed by the fellow writer through their official Twitter handle. The team released a joint statement that read, “The entire #ThisIsUs family was devastated to learn of Jas Waters passing. In our time together, Jas left her mark on us and ALL over the show. She was a brilliant storyteller and a force of nature. We send our deepest sympathies to her loved ones. She was one of us. RIP @JasFly.”

As the news spread like a wildfire, creator, and stars of This Is Us too paid their last tributes.

Mandy Moore wrote, “Sending love and light to @JasFly’s family and loved ones.”

Dan Fogelman, creator of This Is Us, too offered his condolences with a heartfelt post. “This news took my breath away. Jas was absolutely brilliant and had so many stories still to tell. She made an indelible mark on our show and my heart breaks for her loved ones. RIP @JasFly.”

“Incredibly shocked and saddened to have just receive this news. Blessed Light, fly with the angels,” shared Susan Kelechi Watson.

Jas Waters has her writing credits on as many as 18 episodes of This Is Us. She is also known for her work in shows like Comedy Central’s Hood Adjacent With James Davis, VH1’s The Breaks, and MTV’s Real World and Showtime’s Kidding.
