Gal Gadot starrer Hedy Lamarr was originally pitched for Showtime and was with the platform until now. Turns out it is now going straight to the Apple TV+. The fast-spreading giant has given a straight to series permission to the show.
As reported in the Hollywood Reporter, the show will be written by Sarah Treem, who holds the credits as the co-creator of The Affair. However, Sarah and Gal Gadot be will be executive producers on the show. The show has been in the pipeline for over two years now. While it never got official with Showtime, Apple has seized the opportunity.
Hedy Lamarr, for the ones unaware, was considered one of the most beautiful women in the world. The show will follow her on a journey spanning 30 years. It will trace her from her escape from the Vienna war to her shining career in Hollywood. It will also portray her fall and the hardship that came her way during the Cold War.
The show will also highlight her invention. Hedy Lamarr and her friend and composer George Antheil made a frequency-hopping system that helped during World War ll. It warned the people about Bluetooth and Wi-fi technology.
Gal Gadot’s Hedy Lamarr will join Apple TV+ line up including Defending Jacob, The Shrink Next Door and Lisey’s Story. Meanwhile, there are also reports that the platform has acquired Martin Scorsese’s Killers Of The Flower Moon starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.
As for Gal Gadot, her most anticipated film Wonder Woman 1984 was set for an August 2020 release but pandemic pushed things ahead. Now we all are waiting for things to get back to normal and get the new release date asap!
