Ben Affleck joined the DC Extended Universe as Batman in 2016 with the film, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. The film also starred Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. After Christian Bale’s exit from DC Universe in 2013, Ben stepped in to play the caped crusader.

There have been a lot of stories on how DC and Warner Bros convinced Ben Affleck to play Batman in their films. To play such an important character, the Gone Girl actor had to stay fit and carry a strong and rigid persona like Bruce Wayne. But did you know that Avengers: Endgame actors Chris Hemsworth aka Thor and Chris Evans aka Captain America had inspired Affleck for Batman V Superman?

That’s our DC Trivia #10 for today. A few years ago, Ben Affleck appeared on Live! with Kelly and Michael, and made this interesting revelation. The actor shared he’s looking up to several Avengers cast to be in shape. The Argo actor shared, “I have been getting bigger, yeah. I have been working out a lot. These are not roles that you can do and not exercise for. Audiences have now increasing expectations. Like, in the 50s, you could just be like Burt Lancaster and tall. That was ok, but now you see guys like Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans and all these guys whose bodies are just, you think, ‘How is that even possible?’ Exercising is as much a part of the job as the rest of it.”
