Matt Reeves’ The Batman has sparked some interest among fans who are now eager to see Robert Pattison in the role. However, some fans still consider that Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight series was one of the best comic book movies of all-time. They also hoped that their favourite filmmaker will continue with his version of Batman.

Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy was less a superhero movie and more of a crime drama.  Needless to say at some point every comic book movie will be compared with the trilogy.

Christopher Nolan, who is now basking in the glory of his latest release Tenet, has revealed that his days of directing DC comic book movies are most likely over.

While promoting his latest film Tenet, Nolan and John David Washington had discussed during an interview with Geeks of Color that whether the former would be open to joining the DC universe. The director had simply said that “I think my DC days are over.”

This news comes as a disappointment for all the Nolan fans. Nevertheless, his style of filmmaking is distinct and he is now exploring his voice permeating films like Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, and now Tenet.

Nolan’s loud and enthralling epics have proven as ground-breaking as his Dark Knight trilogy. He usually experiments his filmmaking skills like use of IMAX cameras to mind-blowing practical stunts incorporating little CGI. He also shot his latest film Tenet scenes backwards.

It could be said that Nolan’s intellectual thrill-rides is itself a genre. Some critics claim that “it’s what you’d expect from a Christopher Nolan movie.”

Nevertheless, we think that Nolan’s “DC days being over” doesn’t bode any less eventful for the big-screen. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
