Avengers: Infinity War Box Office Early Trends: Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably know about Marvel’s The Avengers. With the studio setting up its cinematic universe over the past decade with numerous films, it has finally culminated into what is rightfully touted as the ‘biggest crossover event in history’ in Avengers: Infinity War.

The film broke many records even before it got released yesterday. Despite being released on a non-holiday, and in over 2000 screens, the film recorded a mind-blowing occupancy of 70-90%, the highest for any film in India in 2018.

The film is currently said to have collected somewhere between 29 – 31 crores on its 1st day, a number unprecedented for any Hollywood film in India on its opening day. The film features an ensemble of 22 superheroes including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Spiderman and many more, who come together to stop their most dangerous foe till date, Thanos. The film also circles around the 6 infinity stones, which the previous Marvel films had talked about.

In a statement to IANS, Ashish Saksena, the Chief Operating Officer of Cinemas, BookMyShow, said, “The response to ticket bookings for ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ has been extremely encouraging across formats. And while, as expected, the craze for watching the film on an IMAX screen is huge, the sales have been remarkable even for the 3D format,”
