In 2008, with Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr started his as well as Marvel’s journey in the cinematic world. From the first film itself, fans enjoyed his portrayal as Tony Stark. The film starred Terrence Howard as Rhodey, Stark’s best friend.

In Iron Man, Tony and Rhodey seemed to be best of friends. But in reality, Robert Downey Jr and Terrence Howard didn’t share healthy equation. In 2015, Howard made shocking revelations that he took $1 million pay-cut for the first film so that RDJ gets hired as Iron an. But when he asked the Avengers: Endgame actor to return the favour, there was no response.

About Robert Downey Jr never returning his money, Terrence Howard told Rolling Stone in 2015, “I called Robby and was like, ‘Look, man ’. Leaving messages with his assistants, called him at least 17 times that day and 21 the next and finally left a message saying, ‘Look, man, I need the help that I gave you’. Never heard from him.”

The actor further added that because of him, Robert Downey Jr got the whole franchise. So overall, he has given Downey Jr $100 million.

Howard also blamed RDJ for his replacement in the film. Fans were curious to see Terrence Howard playing the role of War Machine in the sequel. Sadly, that never happened. In Iron Man 2 (2010), Don Cheadle made an entry as Rhodey and donned War Machine suit.
