Star Cast: Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Haydon, Boman Irani
First Half Review
Awesome: Nothing brilliant yet! Only A few jokes hit the right notes!
Yawnsome: Use of Whatsapp messages as half of the script!
Housefull 3 brings back the same old tale from its franchise. Boman Irani as Dad and his three daughters Ganga, Jamuna, Saraswati who are far from being the Sati Savitris are seen in the film. The three heroes, Akshay, Riteish and Abhishek are seen wooing their leading ladies for money at first, cupid is yet to strike them.
Script wise, the film is extremely weak. Since Lisa, Jacqueline and Nargis’ characters are shown to be poor in Hindi, jokes such as – “Bachcha nai bana rahe – not kidding”, “Paal poss ke upar ja – grow up” are constantly hurled.
Aakhri Pasta returns and this time even funnier!
A major twist comes just before the interval and it is highly dramatic. Lord knows what’s coming ahead!
Second Half Review
Awesome: Akshay Kumar’s dancing act with his split personality character.
Yawnsome: Repetitive nature of jokes clubbed with a story that is going absolutely no where!
The second half take off from the twist pre-interval. Jackie Shroff’s character is the new addition of this twist and it is a complete unnecessary one. His comic element is talking in acronyms such as BMC-Bagal Mein Churra.
While Akshay’s character brings humor with his ‘Me Myself & Irene’ style split personality act, majority of the time, the writers rely on making jokes on the handicap that their characters are faking.
Popular number Taang Uthake comes in the second half but seems quite ill timed for the plot.
A little bit of action is introduced in the second half with a dash of comedy such as Abhishek taking a long jump to save Aishwarya’s wax statue which is about to fall in the middle of the fight.
A stretched second half bores you out!
This Housefull may not get housefull theaters after all!
