Join UsWorld Famous Lover Box Office: Well known for his blockbuster Arjun Reddy, actor Vijay Deverakonda is devoid of a commercial success for a long time now. His latest release, World Famous Lover, was expected to enjoy a good response from the audience but unfortunately, the film is turning out to be a complete letdown.
As per trade estimates, Telugu release Word Famous Lover has amassed just 16 crores in the first weekend across the globe after taking a start of around 9 crores on opening day. Reportedly, the collections are much lower than Vijay’s recent failures. Also, the film is said to cause a huge loss to the distributors.
Directed by Kranthi Madhav, World Famous Lover released on 14th February 2020. The film also features Raashi Khanna, Aishwarya Rajesh in key roles.
Vijay Deverakonda’s last success was Geetha Govindam (2018) after which he delivered three back-to-back disappointments in the form of NOTA, Taxiwaala and Dear Comrade.
Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda’s new yet-untitled Telugu film with director Puri Jagannadh went on the floors last month.
The project, which is rumoured to be titled Fighter, marks the maiden collaboration of Vijay and Puri Jagannadh.

Puri Jagannadh, an erstwhile associate of Ram Gopal Varma, is known for films such as Pokkiri, Businessman and Temper. He even directed the Hindi film Budhha Hoga Tera Baap featuring Amitabh Bachchan. His last release was Telugu action-thriller ISmart Shankar, which went on to be a box-office hit.
Fighter will feature Vijay, for the first time in his career, in an out-and-out action-packed character. The film will be high on action, sources have revealed.
