The film managed to pull off 38.10 crores in just three days and surely has a long way to go in the first week. The sequel received positive critics ratings and also managed to maintain a good buzz amongst the audiences.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns entered the highest opening weekend grossers of 2015. The film evicted Alone from the list and has taken the second position in the list. It has beaten the opening weekend collection of biggies like Baby and Roy which held the top positions. The film collected merely 2 crores less than the highest opening weekend grosser, Gabbar Is Back.
