In its fourth weekend, Shaitaan ended up collecting 5 crores* more at the box office. The drop is of course, there when compared to the third weekend, even though this Friday there was a partial holiday. However, it’s fair, too, since till now, the film didn’t really have a major competition coming its way. And hence was having a rather uninterrupted run. However, with Crew and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire arriving huge and collecting around 75 crores between them, the impact had to be felt in a big way.

Even otherwise, the dip had started coming in for Shaitaan last week when expected jumps were missing on Sunday and Monday [Holi holiday] and then dips did come during the weekdays. Still, it did better business than both new releases Madgaon Express and Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, what with its third-week collections coming to 20.04 crores, which was quite good. That allowed the film to further make progress towards 150 crores and now the score during the fourth weekend has resulted in the overall collections coming to 142.72 crores.

This is indeed special for Ajay Devgn since now he has gone past the lifetime record of Singham Again in less than 25 days. The Rohit Shetty biggie had collected 140 crores in its lifetime. And now Shaitaan, which has been made on less than half of its budget, had gone a couple of crores ahead already. What has to be seen is if Shaitaan also ends up challenging the lifetime total of another Ajay Devgn biggie, Total Dhamaal. The multi-starrer had collected 154.23 crores in its lifetime run and there is a chance that Shaitaan could end up surpassing that too.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
