Rango Debuts With $38 Million!

Rango topped the chart with a gross of US $38.1 million in its debut weekend. The Paramount flick was easily the winner because it was way ahead of the second film.

Universal Pictures’ The Adjustment Bureau debuted at the second spot with a take of $21.2 million.

The third new film which made an entry in the Top 5 chart was Beastly, with a gross of $9.9 million. It occupied the third place in its debut weekend.

Falling three places was the previous weekend’s topper, Hall Pass. The New Line Cinema film grossed $8.9 million in its second weekend to take its 10-day total to $26.8 million.

Rounding off the Top 5 chart was Walt Disney’s Gnomeo & Juliet. Falling three places, it added $7.2 million to its kitty in its fourth weekend. Its total for 24 days was $84 million.
