Ramleela after nearly two weeks’ journey at the box office went on to join the 100 crore club at the domestic box office. The film that earned 2.30 crores on its 2nd Tuesday, has finally escalated its collections to a whopping domestic total of 101 crores.
The film stands as the year’s 7th joiner in the 100 crore club. Putting up a phenomenal performance of sorts, it is a matter of pride for the film’s lead actress to have delivered four 100 crore films in the same year. One of the most important reasons why Ramleela made it into the club was the film’s ability to give a different tinge to commercial cinema than what is widely served these days. Sanjay Leela Bhansali retelling of Shakespeare’s iconic love story Romeo And Juliet was intriguing which Ranveer Singh and Deepika’s chemistry translated perfectly on screen. Still garnering repeat audiences, the film is consistently over both releases from this Friday – Gori Tere Pyaar Mein! and Singh Saab The Great.
