Raanjhanaa has defied all odds and turned triumphant at the box office. If the opening day was good and the weekend resulted in added momentum, the weekdays brought with them further good news. They were ultra stable right through and added collections of over 3 crores on each of the days. This resulted in a very good first week collections in the excess of 34 crores which is fantastic.

The film is now all set to be Sonam Kapoor’s biggest grosser ever as it would cross the collections of I Hate Luv Storys which had accumulated around 50 crores. With a ‘soon-to-be-a-hit’ tag to boast of, Sonam’s wait to be back in the thick of things is now finally over. As for Dhanush, he has been accepted as a leading man and one now waits to see what he picks next in Bollywood. With the kind of appreciation that he has garnered, he can be expected to stay on for years to come. For producer Krishika Lulla, this could well be beginning of good things to come as her Bajatey Raho, which is looking good, arrives next.

The man who would be grinning from ear to ear is director Aanand L Rai who, now with back to back success of Tanu Weds Manu and Raanjhanaa, has found his place in the list of A-league directors. One can well expect bigger things from him this point on.

As for Shortcut Romeo and Enemmy, both films died a silent death with a theory of ‘sabotage’ looming large. With not even 1 crore each coming for any of the two films, these are bigger disasters than Ishkq In Paris which had arrived a few weeks back. It is disappointing for everyone involved with the films as these were not even seen by any, let aside been criticised or appreciated. None of the two has managed to step into the second week.
