Box-Office: Not A Love Story, Chatur Singh… Make Just Rs 2 Cr

Ram Gopal Varma’s Not A Love Story and the Sanjay Dutt starrer Chatur Singh Two Star made only Rs.2-2.5 crore (all India net collections) at the box-office over the weekend (August 19-21). If you think that only Chatur Singh… will lose money because it was made at 4-5 times the cost of NALS, you’re wrong. NALS, which was made at a relatively low cost of Rs. 5-6.5 crore (making, promotion and release), will also not be able to break even because of its terrible opening.

Last week’s third release, Sahi Dhandhe Galat Bande, had an even worse opening. Shows of SDGB had to be cancelled at many places as there weren’t enough people in the theatres. What’s more, the film was taken off a few theatres from the 2^nd-3^rd day itself.
